Namibian flag

August 13th, 2006

This day I was about to depart on a journey unlike any other I had ever made in my life (so far).
My destination was Windhoek, capital of Namibia, a thinly populated and little known desert country
near the southern tip of Africa. I was only half sure why I even picked this country for a 3-week holiday, but I'm awfully glad I've been there. It was stunning, awesome, inspiring, brilliant!

I'd like to share my pictures of this country, and hopefully I can share some of my enthusiasm about it as well. Because I'm lazy, but also for the sake of conciseness, the texts that accompany the pictures often link to sources like Wikipedia, atlases or other pages where you can read more about certain subjects. You might want to read some of it, because it's interesting stuff. You can find basic information about Namibia's geography, demography and economy on the CIA's website and Wikipedia, for example.

Of course, comments and questions are very welcome.

Regards,

Junuxx
